The 6th Annual Baby V. Golf Outing

Tee it up for pediatric cancer research!

The 6th annual Baby V. Golf outing is scheduled for Monday September 20th, 2010. This years event will once again be held at Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, NY. This event could turn out to be a very special. If we raise enough money this year, we will reach our first major milestone as a foundation and be able to support a research protocol for rare tumor pediatric cancer. Click HERE to take a look at the course.

We are very close to our first goal and we feel this event will push us over the top! $5000 to go!!! Come be a part of history. Click on the link below for more information on the golf outing.

The 2nd Annual Baby V. wiffle ball tourney

took place on July 13th, 2008 under beautiful sunny skies. 14 teams showed up to support our fundraising efforts in the field of rare tumor cancer research in the name of Baby V. (Vincenza)

The Baby V. Foundation would like to thank everyone who participated and donated their time to the event. We raised approx. $2,000 at this event and this had moved us within $7,000 of our first major milestone as a Foundation.  Continue...

About Us
The Baby V Foundation was established April, 2006, following our daughter, Vincenza’s, diagnosis of Hepatoblastoma. Our goal is to work with the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) to raise enough money to fund new research protocols in the area of Hepatoblastoma (HB).

Vincenza Marie graced our presence on July 14, 2004. In November, she began exhibiting “flu-like” symptoms. Multiple pediatrician and E/R visits yielded the same “viral” diagnosis. On April 10th, Vincenza’s abdomen distended and, although we knew something was drastically wrong, we were shocked when tests revealed a large mass. Many events transpired in the next few days, including the final diagnosis of HB, a rare form of liver cancer . Click here for more info

What is Hepatoblastoma
Hepatoblastoma is a very rare cancerous tumor that originates in the liver. The liver is one of the largest organs in the body. The primary functions of the liver include filtering and storing blood. The liver consists of right and left lobes. Most hepatoblastoma tumors originate in the right lobe.

This disease primarily affects children from infancy to about 5 years of age. Most cases appear during the first 18 months of life. Hepatoblastoma cancer cells can spread (metastasize) to other areas of the body. The most common sites of metastasis are the lungs, into the abdomen and abdominal structures, and rarely to bone, the central nervous system, and the bone marrow. Click here for more info
